Here's what Y!A user Carol S had to say"
" love my die cutting system. Crikut is one of the newer products out there, but it is very pricey. I have the sizzix system and love it. They are really worth the money, especially the alphabets. Check eBay.....you can purchase them there for a fraction of the price - just make sure that they are new and in the package.
I couldn't live without my die cuts!!! Good luck!"
see more in the search list below.

I used to have a cricut and then buying cartridge after cartridge got to be too much for me. So I sold my machine and all the cartridges I had and had enough to buy a QK silhouette. They are like $299, in case that is in your budget. But on to your questions about the cricut. I loved my cricut. The only downfall I had with it is the constant buying cartridges. Everything else I loved about it. You can use any cardstock with it. They sell a tool kit for it but the only thing in the tool kit that I really used was the thing to help get your images off the mat (because the mat is sticky) and for that you could use a pampered chef stone scraper or if you have one of those Creative Memories sticker tools they work good too. They keep coming out with more and more cartridges also so you will have a vast variety of images and fonts. I hope that helped some.
