Whether you are creating an album for yourself or for a client, wedding scrapbooks can present quite a challenge! There are so many ways to tackle such a project, it can be difficult to decide which direction to go.
It’s such an important day in people’s lives that we want everything to be perfect and there is no room for errors. With that in mind, here are some useful tips that may help you with your wedding scrapbook.
- Make sure to document well, including names, places, titles, etc.
- Avoid flashy colors, or too many stickers, die-cuts and other embellishments. Keep in mind that “less is more”.
- Be careful when modifying photos by cutting with specialty edged scissors, as you may change your mind later. When in doubt, make a copies of all important photos.
- Page protectors can sometimes look tacky. If don’t want to use them, but want to keep the photos on opposing pages, you can always go for the original style of photo albums and have a piece of tissue separating the pages. It doesn’t add bulk to the album and can make your wedding scrapbook look very classy.
- Do include keepsakes from your wedding in your album, such as your wedding invitation, imprinted napkins, etc. But don’t glue pressed flowers or other items that may eventually discolor or ruin your album. Instead, use see-through memorabilia pockets that are photo-safe.
