Both in the stores. The original is going to be the lesser price one. (cheapest at Wal Mart) The new one has a larger cutting surface and can cut different paper. Hobby Lobby carries them too and the cartridges and special paper. Please note that this machine has a learning curve to it. You are going to have to take time to learn how to use it. Just play with it for awhile before using it for scrapbooking. I know scrappers who love it and those who have it sitting on their shelf gathering dust. Do have a place for it, so it is plugged in and ready to go when you want it. Try to find a scrapbooking store that can demo it for you first. read up on both at Cricut There are two Cricuts out now. The store one depending on where you get it comes with different cartridges then the one on tv. You also have to get all the accessories when you buy the one at Wal-mart and the one on tv comes with it all. i have also heard that the one you can buy at Michael's has totally different cartridges than the other two. So if i were you i would check out all the websites and then make your decision. Its an awesome machine and i love mine.
